See what powers HPC @ UW-Eau Claire
The Blugold Center for High Performance Computing has two supercomputing clusters available for our students, faculty, and staff to use: BOSE and BGSC. By administrating over 80 machines total, we're able to fulfill the ever increasing computing needs of our researchers and classrooms.
BOSE
Thanks to being awarded an NSF grant (MRI #1920220) along with an in-kind grant of hardware from HPE, we've been able to bring online our new BOSE system in 2021. Becoming our flagship computing cluster, BOSE has successfully tripled our available resources and brought in all kinds of new research projects and opportunities that wasn't previously possible.

BGSC
Our first official computing cluster at UW-Eau Claire, BGSC was initially brought online in 2012 thanks to a Blugold Differential Tuition grant. Combining existing hardware from the Chemistry department, along with newly purchased hardware with the grant, we were able to put together a single system for any computing needs on campus, which kickstarted the process to what we are today.
